Deep in Poland's strange and beautiful Crooked Forest, a young bear named Aster looks out for everyone: the squirrels, the beavers, the smallest hedgehog. So when she rescues Jasper the rabbit from a pack of hungry foxes, she thinks the danger has passed. It has not. A pack of wolves is plotting to take the forest for themselves. Rather than run, Aster does the harder thing. She gathers the woodland creatures, stands up to the wolves' fierce leader, and shows them all what loyalty really looks like.

This is a story about kindness with a backbone, and how standing up for your friends can matter far more than how big or strong you are.
